The Maine Foliage Tour will focus special attention on the spectacular beauty that is the fall foliage season and the State of Maine. The Maine Foliage Tour will feature 5 great days of cycling on a round robin tour of Maine beginning and ending in Portland. Average daily mileage of 45 offers the perfect amount of mileage while allowing plenty of time each day to see and explore some of the most beautiful foliage and scenery in the country. Head north from Portland toward Lake Sebago and you'll pass by the University of Southern Maine at Gorham. This is cycling country, rural, rolling, peak foliage and great company. The tour continues north-east as we roll around the China Lakes region of Maine to Waterville. You will have great opportunities to see the foliage with scenic hills and lakes as a back drop. Make sure you bring your camera. The tour will now turn to the east as we roll down to the Maine seacoast and the Atlantic ocean. Fall is the perfect time to ride past the many coastal fishing villages. Watch as the Lobster fisherman haul their pots in for the season. Don't forget to sample some of the local fare; Lobster Rolls and Clam Chowder. Explore the many coves and narrows as the rugged Maine coast jets out into the ocean. The ride will now continue south as we follow the coastline and pass by such famous boat building towns of Rockland and Boothbay. You will enjoy meeting the friendly local people as you approach by bicycle. And finally we'll finish up back in Portland some 200 miles later. This is a terrific tour! You will see so many sights and really get to know the beauty and diversity of Maine, not to mention the great colors of fall. Come join us this year!
